Since its establishment in March 2012, the Kanjurmarg project has emerged as the largest waste processing and engineered sanitary landfill initiative in the country, focusing on the efficient processing and disposal of ~1,000 tonnes of waste per day and is capable of handling ~7,500 tonnes of waste per day
(~90% of waste generated in the Mumbai).
